ITALIC WITH FLOURISHES.
This is a common italic style used
in calligraphy and now available in personal computer fonts
from various type founderies. The hand is easy to learn,
adaptable, and practice sheets are commonly available from
art supply stores. A minimum amount of practice will yield
positive results and afford the opportunity to integrate
the letter forms in one’s handwriting style.
UNCIAL
ADAPTATION
This style is more challenging to learn and
do well, but distinctive and legible. The version shown
here is a font available from ITC.

CARLOVINGIAN
This form is a bit more flamboyant due the ascenders and
descenders, but is adaptable for use in calligraphy projects
or to use in everyday handwriting. This example
is Braganza,
an ITC font for the PC.
